POQUOSON
The Southampton Indians launched their 2016 campaign — and the return of head football coach Littleton Parker — in Poquoson on Friday night, and the outcome was certainly not what Indians fans had hoped for, as Parker’s return to SHS sideline was marred by a35-12 loss to the Islanders. Led by a 10 carry, 194 yard and two touchdown performance by sophomore Colten Hicks, the Islanders dominated the Indians on the ground, as well as on the scoreboard.

When the night was over, Poquoson had amassed 363 yards rushing compared to only 130 for Southampton.

Southampton will be on the road again this Friday as they travel to play Charles City.
