CAPRON — Burton Edward “Hawk” Grizzard, 80, entered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 25, 2016.

He was a son of the late Ollie and Sarah Hall Grizzard and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Zimmerman and Louise G. “Tudie” Bryant; and a brother, Robert O. “Bobby” Grizzard.

Mr. Grizzard is survived by his wife, Joanne Briley Grizzard; daughter, Joanne Elizabeth Grizzard; two sons, Edward Lee “Eddie” Grizzard and wife, Amanda, of Chesapeake; and Russell Timothy “Tim” Grizzard and wife, Julie, of Capron; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Grizzard Crafton; a brother, George A. Grizzard and wife, Ruby, of San Juan, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, in Capron Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Capron Baptist Church, P.O. Box 273, Capron, VA 23829.
