Lions finish atop table

FRANKLIN
The Rock Church Lions soccer club dominated its third season of play, finishing with a team record of nine wins compared with only two losses to finish atop the table. Sixth-grader D.J. Dillon led the team in scoring with 16 goals, while ninth-grader Gabby Fanjul chipped in a team-high nine assists.

“The Rock Lions look to continue to get better and build this program,” said head coach Danny Dillon. “This team plays hard and works well together … They put God first, and then give forth amazing effort. Their great sportsmanship is what I’m most proud of.”

The Lions finished the season with two-consecutive wins, knocking off Surry, 4-nil, and Windsor, 7-1.
