Three Rivers Bass Club compete at Kerr Reservoir

The Three Rivers Bass club traveled to fish at Kerr Reservoir on April 24. Nine teams competed in the third bass tournament in the series.

In first place was the team of Bubba Gay and Joey Scott, both from Emporia, with five bass weighing 14.93 pounds. Taking second place was the father and son team of Keith Vick and K.J. Vick, both of Franklin, with five bass weighing 9.83 pounds.

Greg Harmon, from Capron and his teammate, Marty Britt, of Franklin, took third place with five bass weighing 9.80 pounds. Followed in fourth place by the father and son team of Matt Holt, of Ivor, and Bob Holt, of Suffolk, with five bass weighing 9.12 pounds.

Taking fifth place was Larry Phelps, of Suffolk, and his teammate, Bennie Plessinger, of Whitemarsh, Va., with four bass weighing 9.07 pounds. Phelps also won the big fish prize with a 4.60 pounds bass.

This was the first time the bass club fished at Kerr Reservoir from Rudds Creek Landing.
