“We started off a little slow,” Southampton head coach Littleton Parker said. “We had a good second quarter though. We scored 16 points. That boosted us up.”

The Indians were leading at the half, but then were cut back into the third quarter.

“We maintained in the fourth quarter. It was a good ball game on the part of both teams,” Parker added.

The team lost its previous game to Colonial Height, 38-31, in the second round of the Southampton Christmas Tournament on Dec. 29.

“Colonial Heights was a good team,” Parker said. “We played well. They were just a little stronger than us, but overall it was a good ball game.”

Southampton will next travel to Franklin on Jan. 13 for the on-court version of the Backyard Brawl. Tip-off is at 4:30 p.m.
