Council recognizes retired city employees

FRANKLIN
Four City of Franklin employees were recognized during Council’s meeting on Monday night. Debra P. Trump, Gerald A. Perkins and Albert W. Herdeg were not present to accept their retirement resolutions of appreciation, but Marcellia A. Taylor was present to receive her recognition.

Different members of City Council read aloud the resolutions that stated the employees’ positions and accomplishment during their time of employment with the City.

Trump served as an Accountant Clerk I for the City starting in July 1987 and became Communications Officer in March of 2003 until July 1, 2015.

Perkins served as a Construction Maintenance Worker for the City starting on April 16, 2002, and then transitioned to Sign Maintenance Technician on Jan. 1, 2003, until Sept. 30, 2015.

Herdeg served as Police Officer Trainee for the City from February 2006 until being promoted to Corporal in January 2013 until June 1, 2015.

Taylor served as Temporary Secretary III for the City in July 1994 and took on full-time duties as Accounting Clerk in June of 1998. She was called to the front of the meeting, where her resolution of appreciation was read to her and she was able to accept it personally from Vice Mayor Barry Cheatham, City Manager Randy Martin and Secretary Dinah Babb.

All of City Council relayed how proud they were and how much they appreciated each of these individuals during their time of employment.
