WINDSOR
Windsor’s varsity volleyball squad has bounced back after suffering defeat two weeks in a row to Park View and Southampton. When the Dukes played the Dragons on Tuesday, Sept. 1, they had final scores of 25-5, 25-15 and 25-13, when they played Southampton on Thursday, Sept. 10, they had final scores of 25-16, 25-3 and 28-26.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, they won against Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, with final scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-13. The Dukes then won again on Tuesday night when they played Franklin, with scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 25-18. Their record is now 5-2.

“The Lady Dukes have been working very hard to overcome their previous deficits in consistency on the court and it is beginning to pay off,” coach Brandii Brinkley said. “Movement on the court, team communication and service errors are gradually diminishing per game, lifting the team’s confidence and on-court camaraderie. They are looking to continue their streak against upcoming opponents.”

The team will play Brunswick on Tuesday night and will play Park View again on Thursday night, with hopes of revenge.
