WINDSOR
At 10-4, the Windsor High School softball team is heading into the stretch run. Head coach Sean Wade says if they take care of business this week, they will host the TriRivers District Championships.

The team is coming off of a doubleheader win against the Greensville County Lady Eagles, 6-0 and 10-3, respectively. Freshman E.J. Bankson started and won both games.

In game one, Brittany Wade, Kelsey Shaffer and Kelsey Searcy were 2 for 3 at the plate. The same trio were a perfect 3 for 3 in game two, as was Morgan Whitley. Alyssa Funai was 2 for 3 at the plate.

On May 7, things didn’t go as well for Windsor. Wade said the team just fell apart in the field, allowing an uncharacteristic seven unearned runs in the 9-3 loss to the Park View Lady Dragons.

In the loss, Searcy, Whitley and Payton Gay were 2 for 4 at the plate.

The Lady Dukes are set to travel to play the Surry Lady Cougars on Tuesday and host the Sussex Lady Tigers on Thursday.

In the first meeting of the season, Windsor beat Surry High School 9-1 and Sussex High School 24-3. First pitch for each game is at 4:30 p.m.
