Brooke Mizelle signs letter of intent for Salisbury University

Southampton Academy Raiders softball pitcher Brooke Mizelle has signed her letter of intent to play softball for Salisbury University in Maryland. The Salisbury Sea Gulls are a Division III school in the Capital Athletic Conference.

Susan Brooke Mizelle lives in Holland with her parents, Patty and Barry; older brother, Tyler, who is a junior at Virginia Tech; and her younger brother, Ian, a freshman at Southampton Academy.

She has played on a travel softball team since she was 8 years old. In January of 2013, Brooke came to Southampton Academy, where she participates in the BETA Club, FCA, SADD Club, as well as several varsity sports. Last year as softball pitcher, she was voted First Team All-Conference, MVP and First Team All-Tournament (VCC). She was also voted First Team All-State (VISAA). She is involved in her church youth group with Southside Baptist Church in Suffolk and plans to study pediatric physical therapy and work at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
