FRANKLIN
Aaron Hill, regional manager for USA Football was in Franklin on April 2, to talk to representatives of four area youth football and cheer groups about forming a new league for the Franklin area. Meeting at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Hill talked with representatives of teams from Surry County, Boykins, Windsor and Franklin. During his presentation, Hill stressed the importance of safety, insurance of players and coach’s certification.

Flyers for the new league are posted in the community and registration will begin in early August with the opening kick-off of the league will be in mid-September. The ages will be as follows: 6-8 flag football; 9-11, juniors and 12–13 seniors.
