Southampton athletes take home silver, bronze medals

Overall, the Southampton High School track program was not able to medal as a team at the Windsor High School meet, but several athletes were awarded.

The highest honors of silver went to Jordan Langston and the girls 4×100 team. Sheppard Mason, Haleigh Andrew and the boys 4×100 team also bronzed.

Boys results

• Sheppard Mason, third place boys 200 with a time of 24.4 seconds; and fifth place boys 100 with a time of 11.72 seconds;

• Tyriel Ruffin, fourth place boys 200 with a time of 24.76 seconds;

• Trent Artis, fifth place boys 200 with a time of 25.1 seconds;

• Eighth grader Donta Chisolm ran a time of 54.7 seconds in the boys 400, which would have been good enough for second if he could be on the varsity team;

• Jordan Langston, second place boys 800 meter with a time of 2 minutes and 23.2 seconds; and second place boys 1600 meter with a time of 5 minutes and 19 seconds;

• Brandon McGuire, third place boys 800 meter with a time of 2 minutes 26.4 seconds; and fourth place boys 1600 with a time of 5 minutes and 30 seconds;

• Justin Heiser, fourth place boys 800 meter with a time of 2 minutes and 34.2 seconds;

• The boys 4×100 relay team came in third place with a time of 48.01 seconds, and the team is made up of Trent Artis, Robert Mack, Sheppard Mason and Tyrik Mason.

Girls results

• Dasia Ricks, fifth place girls 200 meter with a time of 30.15 seconds;

• Shayna Stephenson, fifth place girls 400 meter with a time of 1 minute and 17 seconds;

• Haleigh Andrew, third place girls 800 with a time of 3 minutes and 7 seconds; and third place girls 1600 with a time of 7 minutes and 4.8 seconds;

• Isabelle McGuire, fifth place girls 1600 with a time of 7 minutes and 42 seconds.

• The girls 4×100 relay team came in second place with a time of 56.9 seconds, and the team is made up of Dasia Ricks, Kristen Lane, Miranda Duncan and Indiyah Stephenson.
