The Windsor High School Lady Dukes had a rough night on the road recently against the Greensville High School Lady Eagles. The Eagles had bested the Dukes in the first game of the series 50-44, and this time, the TriRivers basketball contest got even further away from Windsor, as they lost 60-37.
Dukes head coach Sherry Ashburn said it is a game they are ready to put past them. Turnovers were the biggest factor, as a team that usually coughs up fewer than 10 had 18 turnovers. The coach said shots were also not falling.
“It was a rough game, but the ladies continue to hold their heads high as they continue to work hard through the end of the season,” she said.
Bridgette Walton led the Dukes in scoring with 11 points and was the team’s lone double digit scorer. Jazzmine Bynum had nine points, and off the bench, Essence Santiago had seven.
