Southampton Academy ended its 2014 football season with another run into the playoffs. While they did not go as deep as they did the previous two years, many of their athletes excelled in the 8-man game on the field and were awarded thusly.
Seven members of the 2014 Southampton Academy Raiders received nods from the Colonial Carolina Conference, and three were all state recipients for the NCISAA. The CCC is an 8-man North Carolina conference.
On the offensive side of the ball, quarterback Matt Rose and offensive lineman Caleb Bradshaw were named to the All-Conference first team. Wide receiver Harrison Pope and offensive lineman Alex Hasty were named to the second team All-Conference. Running back Nate Williams received an honorable mention.
On the defensive side of the ball, Ethan Edwards was not only on the All-Conference first team for linebacker, he was also the CCC’s Defensive Player of the Year. Defensive lineman Roy Hill made All-Conference second team.
Bradshaw, Edwards and Rose were named as NCISAA All-State representatives.
