Scoring 43 points in the first half, the Greensville County Eagles routed the Windsor Dukes, who only mustered 41 total points on the night. The road team ultimately fell in the TriRivers basketball game 65-41.
The Eagles had a bad night on the free throw line, only making 4 of 16; however, they made up for it by making 63 percent of their two-point field goals. The Dukes, on the other hand, shot 7 out of 10 from the free throw line; however, they shot 29 percent from the floor. Windsor also had 15 fewer shots than the Eagles.
The Dukes were out rebounded, 42 to 26.
Quinten Winnegan led the Dukes in scoring with 15 points. He also had 3 assists and 9 rebounds.
On Friday, the Dukes lost to Park View 63-49. Head Coach Brandon Bossick said Malcolm “Woody” Greene played well, but the team as a whole was plagued by turnovers and foul trouble.
The Dukes return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 7, against King William at home at 7 p.m.
