Coby Williams of the Southampton High School Indians is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 10.

Heading into the playoffs, his 3-touchdown performance helped boost Southampton over Franklin High School in the “Backyard Brawl” and that helped solidify Southampton’s No. 13 seed in VHSL’s Division 3A East.

On Friday night in Courtland, Williams got 27 touches as a runner and turned that into 214 yards and 3 scores. He averaged 8 yards per carry against the rival Broncos.

The Indians were able to hold off Franklin 36-32.
