IWA’s Edwards named Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week

Alec Edwards of the Chargers of Isle of Wight Academy is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 6.
On Friday night at home for the homecoming matchup against Broadwater Academy, Edwards had 3 touchdowns and ran the ball 23 times for a total of 132 yards.
The Chargers ended up beating the Vikings 42-14 in the VISAA Div. IV out-of-conference match.
The runner-up was Southampton High School’s Coby Williams, who led the team on the ground with 154 yards over 38 carries. Williams accounted for the Indians’ two touchdowns, as they lost a close game to the Brunswick Bulldogs, 21-14.
