SA’s Edwards awarded Player of the Week

For his 272-yard effort Friday night in Southampton Academy’s win, Ethan Edwards is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week.

Edwards led the way for both teams in rushing during battle of the Raiders with 272 yards over 20 carries, an average of 13.6 yards per carry.
He broke out on four rushing touchdowns, three of them on big plays of 45 yards or more, his longest from 68-yards out.
On defense, Edwards had three solo tackles and eight assisted tackles for 11 total.
Southampton Academy defeated Hobgood Academy on the road in a shootout 78-42 and improved to 4-1 on the season in 8-man NCISAA Colonial Carolina play.
