COURTLAND—Matt Rose of the Raiders of Southampton Academy is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 15.

The Raiders, playing on the road in Cary, North Carolina, defeated Cary Christian School 50-24 on Sept. 12.

SA’s starting quarterback ran for three touchdowns during the game, while also amassing 130 yards on the ground in just 6 runs, which is more than 21 yards per play.

Rose was also 4 of 7 passing for 94 yards, and one of those passes was complete to teammate Ethan Edwards.

Rose threw one 2-point conversion, complete to Harrison Pope, and he ran one in.
