Southampton JV player pitches to perfection

Indians JV Baseball Coach Billy Jenkins said that he has had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with Simms the past two years — coaching him in both basketball and baseball.

“Brendan works really hard both on the field and the classroom,” he said. “Brendan just pitched a great game that day. Every pitch seemed to be working and as in every no hitter/perfect game his defense played great behind him.

“His teammates started noticing what was going on in the 5th inning and were doing everything they could to keep it in tact.”

Simms led the JV Indians in defeating the Surry County Cougars in the last game of the regular season 8-0.
