FRANKLIN—A billiard tournament was hosted at the Martin Luther King Center at 687 Oak St. on May 29. There were 12 participants from the Franklin, Southampton and the North Carolina area.

The May 2014 Franklin Parks and Recreation 8-Ball Tournament runner-up was Anthony Barr of Franklin and the 8-Ball Tournament champion was Steve Wellington, also of Franklin.

There will be a 9-Ball tournament on Friday June 20 at 6 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Center at 683 Oak St. For all players who would like to enter please register by calling Brenon Artis at 562-2475 or 353-7684. There is limited space, so reserve as soon as possible.
