Dukes tennis shuts down the Cougars

WINDSOR—The Windsor High School boys tennis team continued its winning ways on Tuesday when it traveled to Surry High School and shut out the Cougars.
In individual singles, Kyle Hollowell (WHS) defeated Dwayne Seals (Surry) 6-1, 6-0 in No. 1 singles. No. 2 seeds Daniel Klausmeier (WHS) and Mason Grissett (Surry) faced off, and Klausmeier won 6-0, 6-1. Ethan Bales (WHS) defeated Jasper Edwards (Surry) 6-0, 6-0. Derek Klausmeier (WHS) defeated Vydel Travis (Surry) 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot. No. 5 Stephen Hurst (WHS) defeated Eric Blevins (Surry) 6-0, 6-0. Alec Kiser (WHS) won by forfeit in the No. 6 spot.
In doubles, the team of K. Hollowell and Daniel Klausmeier (WHS) defeated D. Seals and M. Grissett (Surry) 8-0. Ethan Bales and Stephen Hurst (WHS) defeated J. Edwards and Eric Blevins (Surry) 8-0. Finally, Derek Klausmeier and Alec Kiser (WHS) defeated V. Travis and J. Taylor (Surry) 8-0 to complete the shutout.
The WHS boys tennis team’s overall record is 8-1.
