“It was a very successful season,” said Head Coach Caren Moore. “It always feels good when you have a team that plays well together and enjoys their time on the soccer field together.

“They are very excited about this opportunity. They are working hard for this and they desire the win.”

Isle of Wight Academy is going for a two-peat, having won the title this past season.

They will play the winner of the Kenston Forrest/Fuqua game today at 5 p.m. Should they win that game, they will play in the finals on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

“We are just working on a lot of drills, and trying to work on things that we need improvement in,” she said as far as preparing.

The Chargers finished the season with 45 goals in conference play, and they allowed 18.

Justin Cobb led the team in goals with 20.

“The defense has worked very hard this season,” she said. “Our midfielders have worked very hard too, and of course, you had to have the goals to win.

“When you put that all together, we had an outstanding team this year.”

On Friday, Justin Cobb scored two, one being a penalty kick, and Michael Mullen scored one as well. Corey Holleman had two assists.
