SA Raiders win three straight

COURTLAND—Southampton Academy beat Alliance Christian on Monday 11-1 behind the strong pitching of Matt Rose.

Rose had 11 strikeouts and gave up 4 hits in 5 innings to complete the game. SA’s offense was led by Nate Williams, who had 2 hits and 4 RBIs, one being the game-winning run.

Also contributing at bat was Tonee Hill, who went 2-for-3 with a triple and a double, Brynner Porter with 2 hits, and Jack Smith who contributed a triple to the offensive effort. The Raiders had 9 hits and no errors to Alliance Christian’s 4 hits and 4 errors.

In last week’s action, SA defeated conference foe Fuqua School 2-0. This game was a pitching battle between Jacob Holland and Thomas Parrish.

Holland had 11 strikeouts and gave up 3 hits. Holland also lead the offense with a triple that he later scored on. Cam Hines scored the other run after advancing with a base on balls.

The Raiders also defeated Kenston Forest School on Thursday of last week. Brynner Porter struck out 11 batters while on the mound. He only gave up 1 hit. Offensively for SA, Tonee Hill had 3 hits, Nate Williams and Jacob Holland each had 2 hits and Masco Barrett contributed 1 hit. Paul Parker scored 3 runs for the Raiders.

SA is 14-1 on the season.

Southampton Academy is scheduled to travel to Kenston Forest School on today and will host Tidewater Academy at home on Thursday.
