Southampton comes to Franklin

This will be the last regular season game for these two schools. The Broncos have had a great week of practice putting some new skills on offense, defense, and special teams. The Indians are up for this game than more than any other.

“It’s a tradition school,” said Coach Darren Parker, speaking about Southampton. “They’re going to be excited and geared up. So we have to bring our A game, because with rivalry games, records go out the door.”

“They bring a lot of speed, are well coached, and have a winning tradition,” said Coach Willie Gillus Jr., speaking about Franklin.

The Dukes will head to South Hill to take on the Dragons for their last game of the season. The guys have had a good week of practice, working things that are tried and true.

Speaking on the Dragons, Coach Chuck Parrish of Windsor said, “They’re very athletic with several athletes to watch, and they like to run the Wing T offense.”

Everybody has been having fun and wants to end the season on a good note, said Parrish.

The Raiders are in the second week of the playoffs and will be going against the Patriots in Courtland. This is the semi-final game for these teams. The Raiders have had an excellent week going over what’s been working for them.

“They’ve added a couple of new formations since the last time we played them, so we’re getting ready for the plays coming out of those sets,” said Coach Dale Marks, speaking on the Dragons.

Kick off is at 7:30 p.m. at SA’s Pillow Field. All other Western Tidewater games this week kick off at 7 p.m.
