The Boykins Bulldogs defeated the Windsor Knights 25-19 on Wednesday night to reach the Franklin-Southampton Youth League championship game.

The defending champions played their best game of the season and look like they are beginning to peak at the right time. However, they will need to play their best next week when they face off against the undefeated Franklin Mustangs, who dismantled the Holland Razorbacks 40-0 in their time shortened game Wednesday night.

Asked about the matchup next week, Mustang Head Coach Rob Carter said “Boykins, they are the Champions until someone beats them, we have work to do”.

This is a rematch of last year’s title tilt when the same two teams met in the championship game. In 2012, the Mustangs were undefeated going into the championship but lost to the Bulldogs 20-13.

Franklin team has dominated each opponent, including a 34-0 win over Boykins in the second week of the season. The championship game is set for 8 p.m. Wednesday night at Armory Field. B-Team games begin at 6 p.m.
