Franklin Mustangs Little League football heads to playoffs

FRANKLIN—Franklin Mustangs finished their regular season 4-0.

The Mustang Express rolled to its fourth victory Monday night when they defeated the Windsor Knights 34-0. After consecutive victories over Courtland 33-7, Boykins 34-0 and Holland 35-6, the Mustang machine rolls into the upcoming playoffs full speed. Franklin will face either Courtland or Holland tonight at Armory Field, with kickoff being at 8:15.

Asked about his teams success this year, Mustang Coach Rob Carter said, “Our boys have played hard, clean and emotional football games. We are very proud of the entire team, everyone has contributed, but our mission is not complete. We were the same place last year and came up short in the championship game, next week we start a new season and we have work to complete.”

Tonight’s action begins at 6 o’clock. with B-Team games. At 7 p.m., the first round of the semi-finals begins with Windsor and Boykins most likely facing each other, and at 8:15 p.m., the Mustangs will host their opponent.
