Franklin to take on Greensville
The Broncos will be going against the Eagles at Armory Field. The team has been practicing well on the field and in the weight room, said Coach Darren Parker.
“They’re big and have speed with their size,” Parker about the Greensville Eagles. “We have to make sure we play up to par.”
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Armory Field.
Southampton Academy will travel against Halifax
The Raiders will go to Roanoke Rapids, N.C., to battle the Halifax Academy Vikings. Practice has been fair for the Raiders, who’re dealing with a few injuries and illnesses, according to Coach Dale Marks.
Speaking on the Vikings, Marks said, “They have pretty good depth. Not too big in the backfield. They’re a scrappy bunch of kids who’ll fight with you.”
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Windsor will be going against Southampton
The Indians will be making the trip to Windsor to take on the Dukes in their backyard. The Dukes have had a great week of practice and looking forward to a good game, said Coach Chuck Parrish, adding that the Indians have been having productive practices and still pushing hard.
“They’re a tough team,” said Parrish, speaking on the Indians. “They like to run the ball, but will spread everything out.”
When speaking about the Dukes, Coach Willie Gillus said, “They’re an explosive team who likes to throw the ball a lot. This will be the first week for us to have to really defend the pass.”
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Windsor High School.
