Isle of Wight Academy defeated the Fuqua Academy Falcons 48-20 in a road game for the Chargers.

Gage Rogers returned a kickoff 86 yards to open the scoring in the first quarter. The extra point was blocked. The second touchdown came as Josh Weihe scored on a run of 26 yards. The extra point was good.

The second quarter opened with a score by Fuqua’s Thomas Parrish. Weihe scored another touchdown run for 37 yards. The next score was by the Rogers on a 98-yard punt return with an extra point. The quarterback for Fuqua, Antonio Gonzalez, then ran in a 12 yarder. The last score of the half was a 47-yard touchdown pass by Brandon Saxby to Aaron Franfelter.

The third quarter belonged to the Chargers. Weihe had a 62-yard touchdown run, followed by a 15-yard touchdown run by Alec Edwards of IWA.

Fuqua tallied the only score in the fourth quarter on a 15-yard touchdown.
