Scott and Edwards win most recent TRB Tournament round

FRANKLIN—The team of Joey Scott and John Edwards took first place in the eighth round of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series held on June 1. The team had five bass weighing 9.66 pounds.

Scott also took the prize for the heaviest bass of the day weighing 2.96 pounds.

When asked how they caught some of their fish, Scott replied, “Throw senko (lures) in the grass”.

The  team of Kevin Gunn and Jonathan Whitley  took second place with five bass weighing a total of 7.94 pounds.

Third place went to the team of Bob Holt and Matt Holt. The team of Jonathan Yost and Jason Blankenship  took fourth place followed by Greg Harmon and Marty Britt in fifth place.

The bass club will have an Open-To-The-Public  Big Bass Challenge on  July 13. All boating bass anglers are welcome to participate at this  event.

The July 13  tourney is launched from Hwy 258 boat landing on the Nottoway River. The fishing times are  6 a.m. to 1 p.m.,  with the morning registration ending at  5:45 am. The Big Bass Challenge is  when teams compete to catch the heaviest bass at three separate weigh-in times with prize money awarded for each weigh-in time period. The teams have about two hours to catch what they feel is a big bass then return to the weigh station at a designated time, then go back out and try to catch another bass for the next weigh-in.  Registration fee is $40 per boat with a maximum of two people in a boat.
