ISLE OF WIGHT—The IWA girl’s softball team advanced to the semifinals of the VISAA state playoffs, having defeated Highland 3-2 in the schools’ quarterfinal round matchup on Tuesday.

The Lady Chargers will face Brunswick Academy at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Petersburg Sports Complex. Brunswick advanced by defeating Covenant 7-0 on Tuesday in another quarterfinal game.
