Several area schools will begin competition in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state playoffs on Tuesday. In girl’s softball, Southampton Academy opens with a home game against Portsmouth Christian School, and Isle of Wight Academy’s quarterfinal game against Highland School will also be at home. Tidewater Academy has a road game at Broadwater Academy. All Games are scheduled to begin at 4:30.

Baseball quarterfinal action will include Southampton Academy taking on Walsingham Academy, Tidewater Academy opening with Kenston Forest and Isle of Wight Academy facing North Cross. All three local teams are playing at home in games scheduled to begin at 4:30.
