Father and son team take first place in bass club tourney

FRANKLIN—The team of Joey Scott and his son, Jordon, took first place in the sixth round of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series held on May 4 on the Nottoway River. The team had five bass weighing 13.18 pounds.

Joey Scott also took the prize for the heaviest bass of the day weighing 5.69 pounds.

When asked about his day of fishing, the senior Scott said, “Simmons Gut is on fire!”

This was an open-to-the-public bass tournament with 21 teams competing for top prizes.

The team of Jamie Nealy and Greg Ball took second place with a total weight of 11.50 pounds.

Third place went to the team of Blake Ferguson and William Ferguson with a total weight of 10.99 pounds. The team of Jonathan Whitley and Kevin Gunn took fourth place followed by Doug WIlliams in fifth place.

The next members’ bass tournament will be on May 19th on Lake Gaston.
