Winning team catches five bass

FRANKLIN—The team of Mark Wilkerson and Red Arnold took first place in the fifth round of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series held on April 28 on the Nottoway River. The team had five bass weighing 17.30 pounds.

Wilkerson also took the prize for the heaviest bass of the day, weighing 5.49 pounds.

“I really enjoy fishing with this bass club,” stated Wilkerson. “There is great fellowship and sportsmanship.”

The team of Jonathan Yost and Jason Blankenship took second place with five bass weighing a total weight of 13.19 pounds.

Third place went to the team of Kevin Gunn and Jonathan Whitley with five bass weighing 12.82 pounds. The team of Keith Vick and K.J. Vick took fourth place with a total weight of 10.53 pounds followed by Greg Harmon and Reggie Rush in fifth place with a total weight of 10.38 pounds.

The bass club will have an Open-To-The-Public Bass Tournament this Saturday on May 4. All boating bass anglers are welcome at this event. Registration ends at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday and boats will begin launching at 6 a.m. with weigh-in beginning at 3 p.m.
