Local academies remain ranked in baseball

Midlothian, VA-Three local academies remain ranked in the top five in this week’s state rankings, according to the most recent VISAA Division III poll released Tuesday, April 9, but two schools have changed positions.

The Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association ranked Southampton Academy (7-1) second in the state with 44 points, moving them up from third in last weeks’ poll. They take over that spot from Isle of Wight Academy (6-2), who slips to third with 42 points. Tidewater Academy (4-2) maintained their position as the fourth ranked team in Division III with 34 points.

Nansemond Suffolk Academy (3-3) moved into the fifth spot this week in the Division II poll with 30 points, after being ranked seventh last week.
