SA baseball comes from behind tor 3-2 victory

COURTLAND — The Southampton Academy baseball team won a hard-fought come from behind 3-2 victory against Virginia Commonwealth Conference opponent Fuqua School on Tuesday.
Raider pitcher Tonee Hill picked up his first win of the year, Hill and Jacob Holland combined for a 3 hitter.
The Raiders led off scoring with a run in the bottom of the 1st inning from a RBI single by Holland. The RBI allowed Paul Parker, who led off the game with a single, to score after stealing second base.
The game remained 1-0 until the top of 6th inning.
Fuqua scored two runs on three hits, the only hits allowed by Raider pitchers.
SA got on base in the 7th inning with a walk to Nate Williams, followed by Paul Parker being hit by a pitch. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ethan Edwards drove a single to center field allowing Williams to score for the tie. Hill followed with a single to left field bringing Parker in for the winning run.
The Raiders improved to 2-0 on the year and will host on Kenston Forest at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 in Courtland.
