RICHMOND—The Blackwater Volley Ball Club 13U girls won six straight sets last weekend to win a tournament at Richmond Volleyball Club.

The team defeated Xtreme, CAVC 13, Lady Aces and the HOV 13 National Team.

In action from the weekend of Feb. 9 at the same location, the girls took a 4-0 lead after defeating MAVC and the Lady Aces and lost to Clash 13 before getting into the championship round. After pool play, BWVBC defeated NRV before loosing to Beach Elite 2-1 in the semifinals.

“We took three teams, 13U and 16U, both lost in the semifinals and 14U finished first in their tournament,” said Coach Chad Brock. “We are having one of the strongest seasons that I can recall as an organization. We have had strong teams in the past, but not on the scale we are seeing this year.”

There were college scouts watching some of the girls on the 17U team last weekend, Brock said.
