AMELIA COURTHOUSE—The Southampton Academy boys’ basketball lost 85-49 to Amelia Academy during a Virginia Commonwealth Conference game on Tuesday.

“We have played our best basketball the past five weeks,” said SA Coach Jim Tribbett. “Things went pretty well for the home team, unfortunately not for the academy.”

The Raiders are 5-9 in the VCC and 11-9 overall.

Leaders for SA were junior Tonee Hill with 17 points; junior Cam Hines added nine, four rebounds and four assists, while sophomore Matt Rose added eight points and four rebounds.

SA will finish its regular season at home against Richmond Christian at 7:30 p.m. today, Feb. 15, in a VCC game.

“I am looking forward to going into the post season,” Tribbett said. “Loosing only one senior this year, we have a bright future ahead of us.”
