TA girls take two

WAKEFIELD—The Tidewater Academy girls’ basketball team had four players score in double digits during the 69-46 Virginia Commonwealth Conference win over Fuqua School Monday.

Senior Cary Beahm led the Lady Warriors with 23 points and 18 rebounds. Sophomores Taylor Pruitt and Kayla O’Gara added 15 and 10 points, respectively. Senior Falon Williams netted 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

In action from Friday, TA beat VCC opponent Richmond Christian 50-19.

Leaders for the winners were Pruitt with 18 points; Beahm added 15 and pulled down 11 rebounds. O’Gara netted 10 points and Williams added six points and pulled down seven rebounds.

The Lady Warriors went 11-for-17 from the free-throw line.

TA improved to 10-2 in the VCC and 17-6 overall and will close the regular season on the road against VCC foe Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14.
