SURRY—A Surry player hit a game-winning shot with 2 seconds left in Tuesday’s girls’ game against Tri-Rivers District opponent Windsor for a 57-55 victory.

“We played hard,” said Windsor Coach Chuck Parrish. “We had a lead going into the fourth quarter and didn’t hold onto the lead. Our effort was good. We just didn’t finish the game.”

Bridgette Walton led the losing Lady Dukes with 18 points. Taquisha Harris added 13. Tierra Rawls scored a three-pointer.

Windsor was 18-for-31 from the foul line.

The Lady Dukes closed their regular season on Thursday, hosting Southampton Academy. Results were not available as of press time.
