COURTLAND—Southampton Academy junior Tonee Hill netted 28 points to lead the Raiders to a 73-65 win over non-conference opponent Alliance Christian on Friday.

“It was a pretty tough game,” said SA Coach Jim Tribbett. “We hadn’t practiced in two days. (Alliance Christian) has the best pair of guards we have seen this season.”

The Raiders improved to 9-7 overall and remain 3-6 in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference.

Other leaders for the winners were junior Cam Hines with 18 points; senior Zach Best and sophomore Matt Rose added 11 apiece. Junior Johnny Tribbett led in assists with eight.

SA traveled will travel to Kenston Forest for a 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, game.

“Some of our best games have been on the road this season,” Tribbett said Monday.
