COURTLAND—Southampton High School junior Talisha Jenkins scored a game-high 23 points during the Lady Indians’ 38-34 Southside Districtloss to Prince Edward on Tuesday.

Prince Edward led 5-4 at the end of the first quarter and Southampton led 13-12 at the half and 23-21 going into the final quarter. Prince Edward outscored the Lady Indians 17-11 in the fourth.

Jenkins scored the only three-pointer.

Prince Edward committed 15 fouls to Southampton’s 13.

The girls at 5:30 p.m. today, Jan. 30, will host Parkview. The boys’ game follows at 7.
