TA girls defeated SA 53-22

WAKEFIELD—The Tidewater Academy girls’ basketball team defeated Virginia Commonwealth Conference opponent Southampton Academy 53-22 on Monday.
The Lady Warriors improved to 8-1 in the VCC and 14-5 overall, while the Lady Raiders fall to 2-7 in the VCC and 5-10 overall.
Leaders for the winners were senior Sarah Savedge and sophomore Taylor Pruitt, who both netted 13 points while seniors Falon Williams and Cary Beahm scored 8 points each and pulled down 7 rebounds apiece.
Barclay Gatten led the Lady Raiders with 7 points.
TA will travel to VCC foe Brunswick Academy School at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, while SA will host VCC opponent Fuqua School at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30.
