TA boys rout RC 50-24

RICHMOND—Tidewater Academy improved its Virginia Conference Commonwealth record to 5-2 after defeating host Richmond Christian 50-24 on Tuesday.
“They played really, really good defense,” said TA Coach Walter Westbrook. “They (Richmond Christian) had 16 points at the end of the third quarter. We took control of the game. I was very proud of the defense.”
Senior Hunter Haywood scored 17 points and sophomore Payton Holdsworth added 11 more and 13 rebounds.
The 12-6 Warriors will host Alliance Christian for a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.
