Windsor girls win in final seconds

COURTLAND—A Windsor goal with 6 seconds to go in Tuesday’s game gave the Lady Dukes’ a 32-31 edge over host Southampton Academy.
“Our young ladies hustled and played hard and stayed patient all night long,” Windsor Coach Chuck Parrish said about the come-from-behind, non-conference victory.
The Lady Dukes were down by 5 at the half and one going into the fourth quarter.
Junior Macayla Servais led Windsor with 11 points, including a 3-pointer; senior Taquisha Harris added 8.
SA sophomore Sarah Best led with 12 points and junior Morgan Pope added 11.
Southampton won the junior varsity game 21-15.
Windsor will travel to the
Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for a Tri-Rivers District game at 5:30 p.m. today, Jan. 18.
