CHESAPEAKE—Isle of Wight Academy lost 81-63 to Metro Athletic Conference foe Atlantic Shores Christian on Monday.
Four Atlantic Shores players score in double figures to beat the Chargers, who fell to 11-4 overall and 3-3 in the MAC.
The Chargers trailed by as many as 19 in the first half, but then used a 15-3 run leading up to halftime to cut the lead to 42-36 with 20 seconds left.
The second half belonged to Atlantic Shores, which outscored IWA 17-9 in the third period and 21-16 in the fourth.
Sophomore Casey Williams led the Chargers with 14 points and senior Hunter Triplett added 13.
In action from Friday, IWA lost conference opponent Broadwater Academy.
Broadwater’s Michael Riopel, Jonathan McClaskey, Matthew McCaskill and Wesley Shrieves all scored in double figures to lead the Vikings to the 67-53 win.
“The Vikings conquered the Chargers with a balanced attack,” said IWA Coach Benjamin Vaughan.
IWA guard Austin Rogers led the Chargers with 18 points, and center Nathan Sivertson added 14.
