COURTLAND—Southampton High School junior TaLisha Jenkins scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Lady Indians to a 51-42 non-conference win over Surry on Tuesday.

Junior teammate Brittney Johnson added 14 points and led in rebounds with 7. Jenkins added 6 rebounds.

Improving to 2-2, Southampton led 22-14 at the half 39-28 going into the final quarter.

Southampton committed 18 fouls to Surry’s 17.

The Lady Indians will play their first Southside District game when they host Greensville at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. The junior varsity game begins at 5:30.
