Beahm leads Warriors to win with 24 points

COURTLAND—Tidewater Academy senior Cary Beahm scored 24 points in the Lady Warriors’ 47-33 win over Southampton Academy in Virginia Commonwealth Conference play on Monday.

The Lady Warriors improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the VCC.

Senior Falon Williams added 4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists.

Top scorers for the Lady Raiders were sophomore Sarah Best with 14 points and senior Barclay Gatten added 10.

The Lady Warriors will travel to Christchurch School at 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, while the Lady Raiders will host Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7.

In action from Friday the Lady Warriors defeated Brunswick Academy 62-29 to open VCC play.

Taylor Pruitt led the Lady Warriors with 18 points, 7 steals and 3 assists. Beahm had 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals and 5 assists. Williams added 15 points, 6 assists and 2 steals.

In action from Thursday, Beahm scored 26 points in the Lady Warriors’ first win of the season.

Tidewater defeated Windsor High School 64-34 in a non-conference game.

Tidewater went 16-of-20 from the free-throw line.

Leaders for the winners were Beahm with 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals; Williams added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Pruitt scored 12 points. Junior Samantha Dunn added 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Top scorers for the Lady Dukes were Essence Santiago with 7 points. Taquesha Harris added 6 points and Macayla Servais added 5.

“Our young ladies played hard and played with great effort all game,” said Windsor Coach Chuck Parrish. “Our execution will get better each game.”
