WINDSOR—The Southampton High School girls’ basketball team defeated Windsor 49-45 for its season opener Friday.

Bridgette Walton led the host Lady Dukes with 14 points. Teammate Tommie Curtis added 10.

“Our team played well,” said Windsor Coach Chuck Parrish. “We fought very hard and played very hard the whole game. We were down 15 and fought back.”

The Lady Dukes were 13-for-16 from the foul line.
