WAKEFIELD—The Tidewater Academy girls’ basketball team dropped its season opener 44-40 on Monday to non-conference opponent Walsingham Academy.

Lady Warriors senior Cary Beahm led all scorers with 24 points, while teammate senior Falon Williams Pruitt added 10. Junior Samantha Dunn SA in rebounds with seven, while Beahm grabbed four.

The Lady Warriors travel to take on Windsor High School at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29.
