Dr. Drewry Elizabeth Nickerson of Lancaster married Russell Cayton Carter of Richmond on June 16, 2012, at Edenton United Methodist Church in Edenton, N.C.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael David Nickerson Sr. of Lancaster, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Blount Drewry of Boykins, Gwendolyn Johnson Nickerson of Salem and Mr. and Mrs. David Luther Nickerson of Blacksburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James Carter III of Richardson, Texas, and grandson of Mary Jo Lanford of Richardson and the late Cayton French Knox and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James Carter Jr.

Dr. Kara Nicole George of Kilmarnock was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Shelton Esterson of Norfolk, Rachel Harding Griffith of Lancaster, Morgan Leigh Manning of Richmond, Sarah Stables Mclntosh of Falls Church and Lindsay Conway Schlechta of Baltimore.

Arthur James Carter IV of Boston, brother of the groom, was best man.

The groomsmen were Dr. Michael D. Nickerson Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Benjamin Robert Hamilton Nickerson of Lancaster, both brothers of the bride; Dr. Tracy Byerly II of Fredricksburg, Texas; Dr. Kenneth Carter Raney III of Dallas; and Jed Michael Steiner of Bismarck, N.D.

Lynnie Jackson McCrobie of Irvington and Kim Harrup Drewry of Courtland were mistresses of ceremonies. Dr. Andrew Robert Johnson of Richmond was the reader.

The rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held at the Chowan Country Club in Edenton. The reception was held at Pembroke Hall, a home built in 1850 in downtown Edenton.

The couple honeymooned in Nags Head, N.C.

The bride moved to Dallas, where she will complete a one-year residency in pediatric pharmacy at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

Her husband will remain in Richmond, where he works for Fahrenheit Technology.
